Hello everyone, I am Waterson Chen, CEO of Waterson and the founder of this new hinge system. Today, I would like to introduce Waterson's new modular hinge structure system:
Module Definitions
- W: Optional concealed wiring.
- H: Hydraulic damping brake structure.
- T: Pure mechanical braking structure integrated with a safety pin device, allowing temporary door stopping and added protection against unauthorized entry.
- L: Electronic hinge lock integrated with an emergency escape device. In an emergency, users can pull down the escape safety pin and push the door open immediately.
- S: Stored torsion power mechanism.
- +: Indicates two pivot-core types. The core marked "+" adds a special dual-stage gear conversion mechanism designed for the D hinge; cores without "+" (H/T/S/L/W) have no dual-stage gear conversion.
Both the A-type and B-type pivot-core modules are suitable for the K, M, L, and R hinges; only the A-type module pivot fits the D hinge. When applied to the D, K, M, and R hinges, nearly 100% of the internal space is fully utilized. This leaves competitors almost no extra space to modify or redesign. The structure and operating principle are unique and difficult for ordinary technicians to fully understand.
Concealed Wiring Options
- UL-10362: Teflon, heat resistant up to 250°C, AWG 28.
- UL-1569: PVC, heat resistant up to 105°C, AWG 26.
The concealed wire harness consists of 12 color-coded wires arranged into one flat ribbon cable. The 12 wire colors are based on the current U.S. market color standard used by ASSA ABLOY. Waterson commissioned manufacturers to develop custom tooling and samples, going through countless improvements and mold adjustments before finally achieving success.
Easy Installation with MDEA
When installed between the door leaf and door frame, Waterson's MDEA — Maji Double-Fix Anchor — makes installation fast, safe, adjustable, and user-friendly.
With only a 5 mm hex wrench, the installer simply rotates clockwise to build torsion force until the door automatically closes or opens. If the closing or opening speed is satisfactory, no further adjustment is needed. Because the pivot core operates in a floating condition, the braking force automatically adjusts according to the torsion force.
If the user feels the door closes too quickly, the brake speed can be fine-tuned from the opposite end using a 5 mm hex wrench. Each HSW+, TSW+, and related module is an independent mechanical structure with its own stored torsion and damping/braking function. In simple terms, one hinge alone can achieve closing from 90° to 0° or opening from 0° to 90°.
For a door using two hinges, Waterson recommends the TS pure mechanical structure for long life, high durability, and lower cost. It is nearly impossible to wear out and may even be offered with a lifetime warranty for Waterson fans, with only round-trip shipping required for replacement.
W concealed wiring is an optional accessory. The same pivot-core design can be shared across D, K, M, and R hinges, allowing different hinge appearances while still providing premium automatic opening or closing functions at the most competitive price. Waterson has completed the full design and is ready for mass production.
WA+ Passion Fruit and MDEA Demonstration
Waterson will also personally use MDEA Maji Double-Fix Anchors to build a three-dimensional farm trellis system for WA+ passion fruit. This project will demonstrate how technology-based management can transform plant growth from zero to one.
The goal is to create standardized WA+ passion fruit, with consistent size and quality. Although many may consider this a "mission impossible," Waterson is willing to accept the challenge and prove that it can be done. In the future, Waterson will livestream the construction and growth process for fans to watch. Carefully selected WA+ passion fruit will be packed as 10-piece gift sets and shared with fans who love Waterson Hinge, allowing everyone to experience the founder's vision, dedication, and long-term strategy.
